are there more nerve endings in your bum or in the bottom of your feet? i ponder this as i realize i've never appreciated how cold the bathroom floor was until i was seated on it bare-ass trying to affix a large garbage bag to my casted foot using a length of surgical tubing - which by the way, works far better than tape as was recommended by the doctors.
now my apartment doesn't have a tub. its shower stall however is rather large and is fitted with two seats. it was just a matter of getting over the lip and into the stall. steadying myself on my good leg near the edge i jump up and in, landing safely on my good leg in the shower. the rest is straightforward. shampoo, rinse, condition, - what's the point when my hair is only 1/4" long? oh wel, force of habit - rinse, lather, rinse, turn the shower off, towel dry, and i am done.
now to get out. steadying myself again on my good leg i load up, press off, am over the lip, on the porcelain on the other side and before i know what is happening i am back where i started wondering why the floor feels colder on my ass than it does on my feet. upon landing my good foot slipped out from under me and my bad foot being completely useless pointed itself straight at the ceiling. with nothing for my handds to grab on to my head coming within inches of crashing down on that edge of the shower, i was flat on my back. now, is my heart racing because i almost killed myself or because this is a lot of work showering on one foot?
