Near the end of yesterday's dive practice I was working throgh my list and reverse somersault was next. I take my 4 steps. I hurdle. I jump. I have plenty of air. Half way through the somersault I see the board beneath me. I finish the rotation and straighten out. The first thing to hit the board is my right foot. It catches the edge and I continue to fall and instinctively put my hand out to keep the rest of me away from the board. That worked and I walked away with what feels like a sprained wrist.
Silver lining: if my dive was high enough and my rotation fast enough such that I was finishing the dive above the diving board, I have more than enough time to add a half rotation and land this one on my head, ideally in the water.
